THE network owned Russian Railways transported 4,816,600 loaded and empty TEU on all routes from January to August 2023, 12.7 per cent more than in the same seven-month period in 2022, according to IAA PortNews.
The network carried 1,926,000 TEU on domestic routes, an increase of 15.4 per cent, while the number of loaded containers on all routes increased by 17.8 per cent to 3.54 million TEU carrying 49.7 million tonnes of freight, which was up by 15 per cent.
In August, the network carried 625,800 TEU on all types of routes, which is 13.4 per cent more than in the same period in 2022.
Russian Railways loaded 825.9 million tonnes of cargo in January-August 2023, up 0.7 per cent, year on year.
